Mounting the AC Relay

These instructions are for mounting the AC Relay in your enclosure

The AC Relay can be mounted anywhere in your enclosure. If its going to be used to control the Auxiliary 
Power Panel it will need to intersect with the live wire at some point. If it's to be used to control another
external device directly, it'll need to be near the outside of the enclosure.






AC Mains Power can kill or seriously injure you and those around you

DO NOT plug in your equipment while you are working on it

Never add or remove wires from/to your Breakout Board while it is powered up as it may permanently damage it

Never place your hand in live equipment that contains un-insulated or bare AC terminals and wires.

Do not drop



Parts Required

1x AC Relay




Parts to be sourced






2 x M4 bolt with sufficient length to pass through 5mm mounting points and your enclosure material.

2 x M4 Nut, washer and spring washer




Recommended tools






Electric drill

4mm Drill bit (appropriate for the material your enclosure is made of)

Spanner appropriate for sourced bolts



Parts Overview

AC Relay


  1. Terminal 1 - AC Live input (24v-380v AC)
  2. Terminal 2 - AC Live output (24v-380v AC)
  3. Terminal 3 - DC+ input (3v-32v DC)
  4. Terminal 4 - DC- input (3v-32v DC)
  5. Relay Mounting Points
  6. Activity LED
  7. Back plate / heat sink

The Mounting points (5) are where screws can physically pass through the Relay for
mounting purposes.

Assembly/Installation process

When choosing your mounting point position please consider the following:

  1. If the relay is being used to control the Auxiliary Power Panel, terminals 1 and 2 will
    need to intersect the "Live" wires path.
  2. If the Relay is being used to control another AC device, please allow for that device's
    "Live" wire to entre and exit your enclosure.
  3. The Rear panel is a heat sink and will produce heat.
  4. Terminals 1 and 2 are live and have no shielding/insulation
  5. The relay will require a wire from the power supply and one from the TB6560 that
    you'll need to make allowance for
  6. Do not drape or rest other wires on/over the Relay

Installation Process

Once you have selected the desired position to mount the AC Relay please drill 2 x
4mm holes as per the mounting template. Relay orientation is at your discretion but
remember the relay terminals 1 and 2 need to intersect with the path of the "Live"
wire leading to the Auxiliary Power Panel.

Align the bottom mounting point up with the lower 4mm hole. The lower mounting point is fixed
and the upper has some adjustment space.


Insert the bolts through the AC Relay and the mounting surface and attach flat washer, spring washer and
nut then tighten.


Once the bolts are tightened grasp the relay and make sure it is firmly in place.

The AC Relay is now mounted
